REL Research on ELL Students in Arizona: Implications of Distribution, Mobility, and Achievement

Arizona has a large and growing population of English language learner (ELL) students, and these students have some unique pedagogical needs. The OELAS Conference is the state’s annual meeting to provide guidance, assistance, and support for improving the practices of educators who teach or administer to ELL students. Conference attendees will include approximately 700 teachers, school and district administrators, and state department personnel.

REL West researchers provided a session on a number of recent REL West studies looking at Arizona's ELL student population and the implications of study findings for improving policy, classroom practice, and future research.
