This webinar was provided for members of the CORE Alliance to help inform the work of member schools in eight CORE districts that are developing communities of practice focused on meeting the needs of students in special education.
The webinar included the research base and basic tenets of inclusion, presented data on national and state outcomes for students with disabilities, and shared the attributes of different inclusion models.
The presenter, Dr. Alice Parker, is a consultant to state departments of education and local school districts, providing support and training in leadership, reducing disproportion, RtI implementation, and best practices in special education. She served as the Assistant Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Director of Special Education at the California Department of Education for over eight years, and is a past president of the National Association of State Directors of Special Education.
